Piano Book Series

About the Author - Joshua Hanna

Joshua has taken all the knowledge he has learned from his own years of teaching music and frustration and created a series of books that uses shapes, analogies, colors, and layered methods of learning. He is passionate about taking the important aspects taught in music and transforming it into an entirely new way to not only learn better, but have it to where you never want to quit music no matter the reason. Have you ever talked with someone or thought yourself "I used to take music but I've forgotten everything" or "I love music but learning is so boring". You're not alone. Many people feel the same way but there was nothing out there that really came out of the box...until now!

His book series is all in one book that takes a totally different and much more "human" approach to learning and playing music. The book series includes theory, ear training, ad-lib, reading music, and allows the learner to be creative with music using more than just the piano sound. You’ll learn how to listen to your favorite songs and play them. The book also offers options for the listener to hear examples in piano or synthesizer form. Specifically made for the Twenty-first Century musician, the book consists of 80% audio and video that builds on itself per page. Purchase at the app store today!

Example of Music within a Video

Notice how the music is unconventional yet very affective in describing a technical subjects such as chords and what they look like.

You will see a lot of innovative methods that simply just work. You may find yourself saying "It's almost to easy!"

Real World Sheet Music

This Sheet Music piece is titled "Being Different is OK". Unlike other music books, the Sheet Music is not only composed in a much more emotional and human way, but is also relevant to today's current problems and concerns.

You'll want to play them because they are not only sound like what the title describes, but also sound more emotional and human.

Film Scores composed for Animations

What can get you into a movie plot faster than the visuals and story? Film scores. In many of the animated examples, you will hear incredibly composed film scores that bring your learning to a whole new level. Not just with breath taking visuals but breath taking visuals combined with beautiful music to bring your musical learning to a whole new experience.

Technical Synth Music in Explanations

Starting at Level 1, the book series will now come with instructions and explanations that contain rhythmic melodies in which can possibly help the brain not only retain what it is learning but also help it make sense of the information faster.

Music may heighten our sense of understanding as we learn.

Joshua's Descriptive Voice Overs

The entire book series is built on stories, analogies, nature and much more. The audio instructions and descriptions are no exception. We learn best through stories and relatable descriptions that build on itself. For example, if you are an experienced driver, then driving one brand of car is really no different then driving another brand of car. They all have the same core parts to get you from point A to point B.

Music About Saving Animals

I am a HUGE advocate for the care and well being of animals, especially dogs. In the near future, my wife and I want to donate money to different organizations to help save and find dogs their forever home. The right home.

This is one example of Sheet Music written about a scared and lonely puppy who just wants a home.

Funny Film Scores

You will hear amazing film scores but not all of them are deep and emotional.

Bringing a balance of different types of scores and music can bring a sense of balance to what normally would be frustrating and chaotic.

Real World Examples for Sheet Music

I'm not the type of composer that composes all of the music from Primer Level to Level 2 in the key of C. It is extremely boring not only for me but for the student. There is so much potential in just the white keys alone. It just depends on where you start.

The piano sound alone may not do the piece justice which is why I've create "Multi Potentials". Basically, here's what the music sounds like as written and here's what the music sounds like with synthesizers, drums and bass. Music is supposed to inspire us and this is a great feature to have if you enjoy variety and potential.

Edgy Music

I am passionate about creating music and scenes that are edgy, modern and not afraid to let the ideas lead themselves.

Music is a powerful tool to creating a better environment for learning. For example, why do you think that seeing a song about the 50 states helps you memorize better? Or a song about our respected presidents? Music is an incredible tool that may help our brain connect the pieces

Music is from the Soul

We probably can mostly agree that we want to learn music because we were inspired by a song or music piece that "moved" us emotionally or even spiritually. What happens though when it comes to learning music? Do you ever have the chance to learn what inspired you in the first place? Maybe, but you have to spend years in level after level of boring music thinking you'll never be able to play what you love. This book series starts this from the very beginning so it feels natural to play what ever you want now, not 4 years. This is assuming that during that period you wouldn't quit out of frustration and boredom Believe it or not, this piano piece is quite simple if you know your music scales. All I did was use a few simple principals (all white keys) to create this beautiful piece of music. My piano students were playing this within 4 weeks of starting lessons. If you're inspired and have a reason to care with a vision of where you will be musically, music will be the love of your life.

Gibberish Vocals Can Become Music

I am passionate about creating music and scenes that are edgy, modern and not afraid to let the ideas lead themselves.

Space Sounds with Narration

Everything in music can be related to something in nature. With incredible visuals of space relating to Middle C on the music staff, you can hear many tones played at once. Think it's hard? All I did was all the white notes down starting from the D on the keyboard all the way to the next D above it. Can you see how simple music can be?
